CSU Judicial Board (JB) convened on Oct. 27th to consider a complaint by the CSU council of representatives against current Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bram Goldstein.
The meeting started with JB member Nadim Kobeissi recusing himself for appearance of bias as he ran for the position of the CEO now being questioned.
Things got even more interesting as CSU VP Advocacy Challenged the JB Chair, Cassie Smith, to explain why the JB is hearing a Closed Session testimony from CEO Bram Goldstein and pointed to the fact that this breaches the JB procedures for the complaint. JB Chair, Smith, admitted making a mistake and canceled any discussion with CEO Goldstein out of procedure.
Concordia Students Broadcast Corporation Board of Directors Representative and student, Sabine Freisinger, asked the JB to explain payments to CEO Goldstein from the JB budget and how that reflects on an apeared conflict of intrest of the JB as a ruling body. CEO Goldstien, explained that EX-CEO Oliver Cohen payed him an unregulated bonus for his work as Deputy-CEO of election in March 2011, out of the budget line of the JB, for no work done for the tribunal.
and it only got juicer from there.
